Total Battery System Voltage in V *
This is the total voltage from all your batteries. The total voltage required would depend on your specifications of your inverter for accepted battery voltage range. Please refer to the specifications of your inverter before making a choice on the required battery voltage. Batteries connected in series, increase the voltage, batteries connected in parallel keep the voltage the same but increase the run time capacity of the battery. Example: If you have two 12V 100Ah batteries connected in series, you will have a total voltage of 24V & total current of 100Ah. If they are connected in parallel, you will have a total voltage of 12V and total current of 200Ah.
How Many Hours At A Time Will Your Batteries Be Used On Average? *
This is the total amount of time you require the system to run off power stored in your batteries. Please remember that when you have peak sunlight, your solar panels will be producing power. This amount of hours is only for when you do not have external power being supplied from you solar panels or Eskom. Average stage 4 load shedding time is 4 hours at a time. It is recommended to increase the hours your batteires will be used for when calculating if you are going to be usign your batteries during high usage times during the day.
